We have announced second quarter training for northern and southern California! Use the links below to register!

    SEATBELTS, PRE-TENSIONERS, AND AIRBAGS:
HOW THEY WORK AND THEIR EFFECT ON OCCUPANT SAFETY

Seat belts and airbag are ubiquitous in vehicles. This training illustrates how and why restraint systems reduce injury through hands-on activities, deployments, samples, lecture, demonstrations, problem solving, and case studies. After the training, attendees will better understand restraint system history, inner workings, and nuances in performance across a variety of circumstances (eg, pregnant occupants, out-of-position sitting, etc.).

Swaroop Dinakar from Driver Research Institute will present  "What is PRT and how to apply it to rear-end crashes?"

The one day training will delve into discussing the different types of rear end collisions and how driver responses have changed based on the type of the crash. The in-depth class will discuss where the onset of the event occurs, and how to report results from published research studies. WREX 2016 will be held on May 2 – 6, 2016 at the Rosen Shingle Creek hotel in Orlando, Florida.

We are currently starting the process to identify speakers and presenters.

If you are interested in speaking or presenting at the conference, or have attended an event where you had an exceptional presentation you feel others would benefit from, please contact William Camlin at wccamlin@comcast.net for details on the process.

The event will be sponsored by numerous crash association societies from the US and Canada (and possibly International Associations). We are currently in the preliminary planning stages and expect this to be the largest crash reconstruction conference ever held. Current plans includes numerous crash related guest speakers and two days of outdoor testing, including several high speed crash tests provided by multiple crash teams.

The Rosen Shingle Creek facility offers us the chance to host everything but the high speed crash tests at one site and the chance to meet with others attending the event in the evenings. There will be complimentary shuttle service to and from the Orlando airport.

Twelve crash associations are already committed to take part and we are in talks with several other groups.  Any other crash association that would like to be a part of this event is welcome to contact us for details at pcarspresident@gmail.com.

Additional details will be released within the next few months via the conference website (once it is developed), online, and in various crash publications.
